About Us EBT/SNAP
The Cape Ann Farmers’ Market is a mission-based not-for-profit organization. Our fiscal sponsor is Cape Ann Business Incubator.
- Support local food growers and fishermen who are active stewards of the land and ocean
- Connect local residents with the highest quality food possible at prices they can afford
- Generate and expand a network of backyard gardeners who are providing for themselves while “greening” urban areas of Gloucester (see: Backyard Growers and Get Fit Gloucester)
- Create community-wide changes that support more active lifestyles and increase the availability of healthy, affordable foods to help propel Cape Ann into a healthier future
Since its inception in 2006, the Cape Ann Farmers’ Market (CAFM) has grown to become a hub of activity for the whole Community, attracting over 1,500 visitors per market. We are reaching out to provide fresh, nutritious food for the entire community, regardless of income. We accept Women, Infants and Children (WIC) coupons, Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupons, and SNAP/EBT.
Cape Ann Farmers’ Market includes over 72 food and craft vendors featuring local farms, prepared and ready made foods, jams and jellies, fresh salsa, homemade pasta, local cheese, honey, sausage and maple syrup and tons more! We also feature live music, work by local artists, educational booths, a weekly children’s activity sponsored by Cape Ann Art Haven , cooking demonstrations, and Seafood Throw-down cooking contests, which create a festive, community-building atmosphere.
Come on down and shop, play, stroll, picnic, swim or just relax at beautiful Stage Fort Park where the view alone is nourishment for the soul.
