Gloucester, MA – The Cape Ann Farmers Market will again partner with the Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance to host the tenth annual Seafood Throwdown on August 16th at Stage Fort Park!
Starting at 4 P.M., veteran competitor Common Crow will face newcomer Feather and Wedge. The challenge before them? To create a unique dish using a mystery fish to be revealed at the event. With their sous chefs, each team will have the opportunity to shop for local ingredients from the market to incorporate with their own favorite ingredients and create a winning seafood meal.
While the Throwdown chefs are hard at work, market goers will be able to feast on freshly prepared seafood dishes and learn about place-based consumption at the Eating with the Ecosystem's 19-foot kitchen skiff. Completed dishes shall be presented to a panel of judges who will score based on taste, use of the whole animal, presentation, and originality. Who will this year's winner be?
